About Niamh

Niamh has a BSc in Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics from UCD giving her the academic background to provide evidence-based guidance on nutritional issues related to disease prevention and management. She also completed a Post Grad Cert in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Leeds Beckett University (SENR accredited).

Experience

During Niamh’s training, she completed placement across a range of clinical HSE settings including both Acute Adult and Paediatric hospitals and community-based clinics. Since graduating Niamh worked as a stroke and general dietitian in an acute hospital. The hospital setting has exposed her to a wide range of complex clinical conditions including Renal disease, Diabetes, Heart disease, Neurodegenerative disorders, Respiratory disease, Enteral Feeding and IBD.

Niamh is very interested in a number of specialty areas of nutrition including Paediatric Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition and Disease Prevention, Digestive Disorders, Cardiovascular Health, Weight Management, Women’s Health (Fertility, Pregnancy, Menopause, PCOS, Endometriosis) and Sports Nutrition (Endurance and Team Sports). 

Interests 

In addition to her work as a dietitian in the clinical and private settings, Niamh enjoys running, cycling and has competed at national level in horse riding events.

Overall, Niamh's diverse interests and practical experience make her a well-rounded individual with a passion for health and wellness.
